upset he was
clamoring the deadly words
letting his wounds speak for themselves
letting disappointment taint his empathy
he was niceness
joy characterized his disposition
smiles of sunny meadows by the river
sweet touches of a patient laborer
he was hurt
mad, as happiness fled
cries of vengeance echoing the mind
harboring violent fires unable to deny
in the end
the dreaded text sent
he recoiled within himself, so fragile
no longer victimized by love’s projectile.
