Love Simplified
No need to question
all of your intentions
as your arms reach me without hesitation
I vow to live simply from your admiration.

I respond “I love you too”
holding hands, savage kisses in a perpetual loop
is simply all we desire to do.

A life together means arguments
A life together means constant laments
but a life together can be effervescent
just by remaining in each other’s firmament.

Others, separately, desire us
Jealousy, of course, hops on love’s bus
riding fearlessly, its intention robust
but we claim to remain one til’ eternal dust.

Legal pressures, deadly tactics shaped from malicious governance
no matter what, love being on our side we stand in its brilliance
nothing can send us away to decay
used to lifelong fights, we are here to stay.

Darling, we are one
and afraid of none
unapologetic hearts, blasting through the sun
marvelously soaking in the world’s utmost fun.

Note: This poem (if it truly characterizes as such) is definitely different from what I usually conjure. I am not entirely adept at explaining the process behind this besides truly wanting to present “love” in a different way. Just having small segments broken off by lines seems to have some sort of stylistic simplicity that makes this rather complex emotion hopefully bearable and understandable.
