Here still
Shadows of hope
lurking through sadness’ mold
flooding my eyes, the many tears
tasting the salty and sweet drama from previous years
Here still
looking at the broken windows
our houses tempered by so much hate and sorrows
I won’t budge nor fight
or pretend to care of such plight.
Do you stop and dream?
dream of a better place
environment full of grace
where death is not allowed to breathe
or love, unable to simply evaporate?
the world changes with each single heartbeat
life’s clock keeps on going and going
fulfilling its destiny, as I lay here still
stupidly thinking, trying not to be a buzzkill
no one seems to care, you know the drill.
There’s always more to say
so much new ideas to convey
our brain invent, re-purpose, redesign
at the expense of our will to survive
here still lies the question of morality
the dictators and their blasphemy
the valiant role of democracy
as the planet again enters a possible future folly
brought upon by its own organism, humanity.
