Fallen Queen

--

so when the world
decided to cripple her
she burst valiantly as a flower
beautiful like a long awaited Summer.

the sunshine became her armor
she turned into a soldier
through her lover’s eyes
she remembered her tenuous fights.

she danced to war’s lullaby
the explosive rush still kept inside
shedding tears up on the shaky balcony
she prayed for grace’s rising tide.

so yes when the world
took her upside down
she looked through the restless crowd
and saw the broken pieces of her crown.
