the sound of summer
the relentless runner
the sky on fire
sweating happiness’ ire
tenderness of a brilliant lover
looking gracefully towards forever
words, words said in a blur
strong soul that endures
taking in the tides of sweet sulfur
breaking the chains of the oppressor
Smiles, smiles of a lifetime
hearts dripping within the divine
a feeling I want to be mine
a poem fit solely for endless rimes
humanity I can still see
a joyous symphony that I hear
regardless of others’ heresy
you’re destined to be here
you’re welcome to stay near
near the creek flooded with empathy.
